At Kaliabor College, we believe in the philosophy of “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body.” Physical education is an integral part of the academic ecosystem, aimed at promoting physical fitness, discipline, leadership and teamwork among students. The college provides modern sports infrastructure and structured training opportunities to nurture sporting talent.

1. Integrated Sports Complex

The campus features an integrated sports complex with facilities for both indoor and outdoor games, enabling year-round physical activities.

A. Indoor Stadium

  • Badminton Courts: Professional-grade flooring and lighting suitable for championships.
  • Table Tennis Arena: Multiple tables for practice and inter-college competitions.
  • Yoga Centre: Dedicated space for Yoga and Meditation, regularly used by NCC, NSS and for International Yoga Day.

B. Gymnasium

The college gymnasium is well-equipped to improve strength, endurance and overall fitness of students and staff.

C. Outdoor Facilities

  • Playground: A large well-maintained field for Football and Cricket, leveled seasonally before College Week.
  • Basketball Court: Concrete court with standard markings and hoops.
  • Volleyball Court: Located near the boys’ hostel for evening recreation.

2. Annual Sports Events (College Week)

The Annual College Week is the highlight of the sporting calendar and encourages mass participation across disciplines.

  • Team Sports: Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Tug-of-War
  • Athletics: 100m/200m Sprints, Relay, Javelin, Discus, Shot Put
  • Indoor Games: Arm Wrestling, Chess, Carrom, Badminton

3. Sports Policy & Incentives

To promote excellence in sports, Kaliabor College (Autonomous) offers the following incentives:

  • Attendance Waivers: OD leave and attendance credit for participation in Inter-College, State and National tournaments.
  • Travel Allowance (TA): Financial assistance for travel and sports kits.
  • Awards: “Best Athlete” (Boy & Girl) trophies and certificates during College Week closing ceremony.

4. NCC & Physical Training

The 8 Assam BN NCC Unit at Kaliabor College plays a vital role in physical conditioning and leadership development. Regular drills, obstacle training, trekking camps and adventure activities ensure cadets remain disciplined, resilient and physically fit.
