Admission Process & Guidelines

Kaliabor College | Transparent, Merit-Based Admissions

Kaliabor College follows a transparent, merit-based admission process strictly in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Department of Higher Education (DHE), Govt. of Assam and Gauhati University. Admissions are conducted through designated online portals depending on the programme applied for.

1. Admission Channels (Which Portal to Use?)

2. Undergraduate Admission Process (FYUGP)

For BA, B.Sc, B.Com and Self-Financed Courses (BBA, BCA, B. Sc. Biotech, B.Voc. STG & TSI)

Step 1: Registration on Samarth Portal

  • Visit the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal (Samarth).
  • Register using your Mobile Number and Email ID.
  • Complete profile and upload Photo, Signature and Marksheets.

Step 2: Course Selection

  • Select Kaliabor College as preferred institution.
  • Choose Stream and Major/Minor subjects for BA, BCom, BSc Program
  • Select correct DSP program for B.Voc. TSI & STG, BCA, BBA, BSc Biotechnology etc.

Step 3: Merit List & Selection

  • Merit list published on Samarth Portal & College Website.
  • Selected candidates must click “Accept Admission”.

Step 4: Physical Verification & Fee Payment

  • Visit college for original document verification.
  • Pay fees via UPI/Card/Net Banking or College Portal.
  • Fee Waiver students must submit Income Certificate.

3. Higher Secondary (HS) Admission Process

For Class XI (Arts, Science, Commerce)

  1. Apply via AHSEC DARPAN Portal.
  2. Select Kaliabor College as preference.
  3. Accept admission offer after merit list publication.
  4. Visit college with downloaded acknowledgement receipt for final enrollment.

4. Post-Graduate (PG) Admission Process

For MA (Education) and M.Com

  1. Appear for the Gauhati University PGET.
  2. Apply separately on the Kaliabor College Online Portal.
  3. Admission based strictly on PGET score and merit.

5. Important Eligibility Guidelines

  • B.Sc (Major): Passed 10+2 (Science) with at least 60% aggregate and passed in concerned subject.
  • B.A. (Major): Passed 10+2 with at least 40% aggregate.
  • Reservation Policy: As per Govt. of Assam rules for SC, ST(P), ST(H), OBC/MOBC and PwD.
  • Sports/NCC/Culture: Limited seats for candidates with state/national achievements (separate application to Principal).

6. Fee Waiver Scheme (Pragyan Bharati)

  • Eligibility: Annual parental income below ₹4.00 Lakhs.
  • Proof Required: Income Certificate issued by Circle Officer (Affidavits/Notary not accepted).
  • Requirement: Students must plant a sapling and submit photograph as per Govt. directives.

7. Documents Required for Verification

Please bring originals and one set of photocopies:

  1. Application Form printout (Samarth/Darpan).
  2. HSLC (10th) Admit Card & Marksheet.
  3. HS (12th) Marksheet & Registration Certificate.
  4. Caste Certificate (if applicable).
  5. Income Certificate (for Fee Waiver).
  6. Bank Passbook Copy (Front Page).
  7. DHE Unique ID.
  8. Gap Certificate (if applicable).
